Born at ‘Wendtworth’ their first Colombo residence, Sunethra Dias Bandaranaike, as the eldest child of two Prime Ministers,leads a life dedicated to the arts and philanthropy. Following her obtaining an Honours Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, she worked towards establishing and strengthening the youth and women’s wing of the SLFP during her mother’s second term in office. Sunethra Bandaranaike started the Sunera Foundation, which has been established to integrate persons living with disability into communities and thereby celebrate differences.
